Statistics in the regions
One of the key recommendations of the Allsopp Review published in 2004, was the creation of a ‘Regional Statistical Presence’ for the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Since April 2007 this has been implemented in each of the nine English regions with two posts being established. In the South East the Regional Statisticians are based in
We are here to assist you to better understand the statistical picture of your area; provide guidance on official data available; work with local partners to improve the quality of business information and to act as a focus for intelligence gathering and feedback between ONS and their customers. We are keen to participate in intelligence or research groups within the region or in cross-regional fora and to facilite links where appropriate.
Please do get in touch if you would like our assistence or if you think a meeting would be beneficial. I cannot guarantee we will know the answers to all your questions, but we will try and we can also relay issues back to appropriate colleagues within ONS or the wider Government Statistical Service.
