Educational Attainment by Ethnic Group, 2005/2006

This update to educational attainment data by ethnic group has been produced by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

The data provides information about the differing levels of test/exam results for pupils in England for the 2005/2006 academic year, with the inclusion of a breakdown by pupil ethnic group. This data covers the spectrum of educational attainment from Key Stages 1-3, through GCSE and equivalent, to GCE/VCE A/AS level. GCSE attainment data has been split to provide a main table of results and an additional table of further information.

This information is used by the DCSF and other Government departments to monitor performance against national and local educational targets, including floor targets and the production of 'School and College Achievement and Attainment Tables'. They are also useful in understanding patterns of deprivation in differing types of neighbourhood.

The data are available down to Local Authority areas within England.
