Household Income: Model-Based Estimates 2004/05

This release from Neighbourhood Statistics provides model-based income estimates for areas within England and Wales. The estimates are produced for Middle Layer Super Output Areas. These 2004/05 estimates use the same methodology as used for the 2001/02 estimates (which are also available on the site), however, differing geographical boundaries and data sources used in producing the 2004/05 estimates mean the two sets of estimates are not comparable.

The dataset contains estimates and confidence intervals for four different income types:

  1. Average weekly household total income (unequivalised)
  2. Average weekly household net income (unequivalised)
  3. Average weekly household net income before housing costs (equivalised)
  4. Average weekly household net income after housing costs (equivalised)

These estimates have been produced by the Office for National Statistics, and are classified as Experimental Statistics.

The data is accompanied by the following:

an article looking at Income Estimates for the North West region, and
a case study to help understand confidence intervals for modelled data.
